CASSINI is the European Commission's initiative to support entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs in the space industry, including New Space, during 2021-2027. The initiative is open to all areas of the EU Space Programme, and covers both upstream and downstream.
Jointly facilitated by the European Commission and EUSPA, the new EU Space Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC) is a collaborative initiative where EU and Norwegian companies from the space sector can work together to enhance their resilience.
EUSPA signed with Thales Alenia Space a contract named LIFEX 1 (Life Extension Phase 1), to ensure that EGNOS V2 continues to provide reliable, secure, and high-performance navigation services for Europe’s aviation, maritime, land transport, mapping and agricultural sectors beyond 2028.

The 8th CASSINI Hackathon: EU Space for Defence & Security took place earlier in 10 European countries. This edition’s winning teams from Slovenia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Spain demonstrated creativity, technical expertise, and a shared vision for a more secure space environment.
Galileo’s High Accuracy Service (HAS), available since 2023, provides sub-metric positioning accuracy worldwide, offering a reliable and precise alternative to traditional Differential GNSS (DGNSS) corrections without the need for additional ground infrastructure. Companies are already getting the added value of this very specific Galileo service.
